Abstract
In as much as direct foreign investments in Africa have grown in the last decade, foreign still continues to play a central in Africa’s development against the prediction of some scholars. However, the long history of foreign aid ineffectiveness is still unresolved. Although a plethora of research show normative ethics such as the ethic of justice and development ethics have been applied in the management of foreign aid in Africa, little scholarly effort has been directed into dissecting how the application of the ethic of care can positively impact the management of aid in continent. In an effort to bridge this gap, we conducted a literature review of the application normative ethics in the management of foreign aid in Africa. The review indicated that the ethic of care can be an additional normative ethics tool that can help in increasing foreign aid effectiveness in Africa.
